1. I've actually been 95-98% on time or early to classes, field work and meetings so far this fall. Perfection still eludes me, but the times, they are a changing....
2. I got on the scale today and happily discovered I'd lost another 5 lbs. Must be all the parking in lower Slobobia and walking to class...
3. While not perfect every week, I've been weekly getting nearer to my intended only 20 hrs. per week of IV staffwork. 25 down to 24 to 21.5 to 20 last week. Jason and I made a deal that I needed to keep a good balance on my time and really stick to it in order to be able to staff SLT this coming summer. It helps me keep a good focus on where I'm spending my time, and choosing wisely each week. Very helpful.

Also neglected "social welfare state" reading
The only part I'm not so keen on so far about school is that I have to read FASTER! I get tons (probably 100 or more) pages of material to read each week, and ever since high school when I began reading more concientiously, because I needed to know and intelligently discuss book content, not just report on the story, I've been a slower reader. Part of it is simply that I enjoy reading...part of it is that I read 75 things concurrently...part of it is that it's hard to stay up late and read when I get up so stinking early every day to be on time. Sigh.
Really, I just would like an instant photograpic memory so I could look at a single page, take it all in at once, and remember it....Yeah...that'd be cool....Keep dreaming...or quit dreaming and get back to reading!

Oops...a month since last posted...time flies when you're having fun in school! I'm happy to report that social work seems largely "up my alley" and aligns well with IV staffwork. There are many places of overlap and similarity, which I am most keenly aware of on Tuesdays when I go from field work (shadowing caseworkers as they visit clients) into my leadership women's discipleship group. Those women (Keri, Heidi, Lauren) are my joy as great leaders and it's amazing to see God use them well this year, and craft them into Christ's image.
